TechFlow news — Canaan Inc. has announced changes to its board of directors. The terms of two directors, Kong Jianping and Sun Qifeng, ended on July 31. Additionally, the terms of three independent directors—Zhang Hong, Yang Xiaohu, and Luo Mei—expired on August 1. The company stated that the outgoing directors will not stand for re-election.
Canaan has appointed four new independent directors effective August 1: Zhang Wenjun, Du Hongchao, Shu Zhitang, and Zhang Yaping. Following this appointment, the board will consist of six members, including four independent directors.
Business registration data shows that on July 6, Hangzhou Canaan Creative Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd. underwent a business registration change. Former directors Kong Jianping, Sun Qifeng, and Li Jiaxuan, as well as supervisor Tu Songhua, were removed from the list of key personnel. Meng Lu was added as the new supervisor. Meanwhile, Zhang Nangeng’s title changed from "Chairman and General Manager" to "Executive Director and General Manager."
After the registration change, Kong Jianping responded to media inquiries by saying, "I'm not quite clear about it. I’m currently on leave due to a foot injury. I haven’t left the management team."
