TechFlow News, July 20, according to South Korean media NATE, the joint Proof of Concept (PoC) conducted by the South Korean credit card industry surrounding the KRW stablecoin will conclude at the end of July, with no plans to establish new working groups thereafter. This test focused on verifying the payment capabilities of KRW stablecoins in scenarios such as QR codes and POS terminals, as well as the feasibility of exchanging regional currency, vouchers, and credit card points into stablecoins. In the payment sector, each card company will independently advance related business according to their own strategies in the future:
1. Shinhan Card and KB Kookmin Card have both integrated with the Solana network;
2. BC Card has completed payment tests for foreigners holding stablecoins at South Korean merchants;
3. Woori Card plans to integrate stablecoin payment functionality into its WON Card app;
4. Samsung Card chose a capital cooperation path, partnering with Samsung Securities and Samsung SDS to spend 612.8 billion won to acquire a 4% stake in Upbit's parent company Dunamu, exploring the introduction of digital asset payment functionality in the financial platform "Monimo".
