TechFlow reports, July 03, according to Seoul Economic Daily, Meta is considering collaborating with Samsung to produce custom AI chips valued at 10 trillion won.
According to industry insiders on Wednesday, Meta is collaborating with Samsung Foundry to co-design and produce next-generation ASICs valued at over 10 trillion won. Meta's self-developed AI accelerator "MTIA" had its first and second-generation products previously manufactured by TSMC, but the company has decided to switch to Samsung Foundry starting with the third generation to be released this year. Its third-generation MTIA chip has been confirmed to adopt Samsung Foundry's advanced 2nm process for mass production, with output reaching hundreds of thousands of units. Meanwhile, US AI giant Anthropic is also evaluating using its 2nm process to develop chips.
