TechFlow news, July 3, according to the Korea Printed Circuit Board & Semiconductor Packaging Association (KPCA), Samsung and SK Hynix, unwilling to accept upstream substrate manufacturers frequently raising prices due to market supply falling short of demand, plan to request price reductions from substrate manufacturers. In the latest price negotiations with substrate suppliers, they requested substrate manufacturers to lower quotes, intending to withdraw the average price increase of about 3% to 4% from the first quarter of this year.
It is reported that Samsung and SK Hynix are pushing for lower quotes because early this year, due to the rise in raw materials such as gold and copper, they accepted a price increase of about 3% to 4% from substrate manufacturers. However, as recent raw material price fluctuations have slowed down and the factors driving price increases have disappeared, they believe that quotes for the second half of the year should return to pre-hike levels.
