TechFlow News, on June 27, OpenAI released its next-generation GPT-5.6 series models, comprising three products: Sol, Terra, and Luna.
Among them, Sol is positioned as the flagship model; Terra targets everyday work scenarios, emphasizing a balance between performance and cost; and Luna is designed as a faster, more cost-efficient variant.
Currently, the GPT-5.6 series is available only to select partners through a limited preview; OpenAI plans to gradually expand access over the coming weeks.
Notably, the naming of these models overlaps with several well-known projects in the crypto industry. Specifically, “Sol” closely resembles Solana (SOL), while “Terra” and “Luna” correspond respectively to the Terra ecosystem and its native token LUNA—sparking widespread discussion across the crypto community.
