TechFlow News, June 22: U.S. Vice President Vance delivered a speech in Switzerland. He stated that negotiations with Iran are proceeding very smoothly and have yielded substantial positive progress. Technical discussions will continue, and he is set to return to the United States shortly. His technical team still has considerable work ahead, and technical negotiations will continue over the coming weeks and days. Vance noted that Iran has agreed to invite International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to resume inspections; inspectors may begin work as early as today, possibly this week. Vance also said he may meet with nuclear monitors today.
He emphasized that President Trump will respond whenever Iran makes false statements. Regarding regional developments, Vance announced the establishment of a conflict de-escalation mechanism for Lebanon, urging Hezbollah to cease firing on Israel. This mechanism aims to contain the conflict in Lebanon while ensuring appropriate coordination and respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty. Additionally, Vance stated that a mechanism has been established to keep the Strait of Hormuz open—currently, the Strait of Hormuz remains open. He expressed hope for a regional ceasefire and for Israel’s security to be safeguarded, adding that a strong foundation has already been laid for successfully concluding a final agreement.
