TechFlow News, June 21: According to the Bangkok Post, Thailand’s Ministry of Interior, Provincial Electricity Authority, police, and local administrative officials conducted inspections at 14 illegal Bitcoin mining sites across five provinces in northeastern Thailand, seizing 315 cryptocurrency mining devices. Investigators found evidence of tampered electricity meters and unauthorized electrical connections used to power the mining equipment. The report estimates total losses at 40.38 million Thai baht (approximately USD 1.24 million), including a 5.38 million baht (approximately USD 165,000) fine for electricity violations and roughly 35 million baht (approximately USD 1.07 million) in unpaid electricity bills. Authorities have collected evidence and filed complaints against the individuals involved.
