TechFlow News, June 18: According to CCTV News, on June 17 local U.S. time, the United States and Iran remotely signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). A U.S. official stated that the document was personally signed by Donald Trump and has now entered into force.
Baghaei, Spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that negotiations on nuclear issues and sanctions will commence within 60 days starting from the MoU’s effective date—i.e., immediately. Prior to the agreement’s signing, both the U.S. and Iran released the official text of the MoU they had reached. Regarding the widely watched Iranian nuclear issue, the text states that Iran reaffirms it will neither acquire nor develop nuclear weapons, and both sides agree to on-site dilution of Iran’s enriched uranium under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
