TechFlow reports that on May 29, Ventuals, a perpetual contract platform in the Hyperliquid ecosystem, tweeted that its team had identified a flash crash event in the SPACEX market. The incident originated from erroneous off-chain data supplied by a data provider—part of the oracle price feed—which caused significant volatility in both the oracle price and mark price for this market, triggering liquidations of some users’ positions.
Ventuals stated it has immediately implemented measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in any pre-IPO markets and is currently assessing the impact on affected users to formulate an appropriate compensation plan.
