TechFlow News, May 27: U.S. officials revealed to the media on May 27 that the U.S. Department of Defense has drawn up a list of potential strike targets inside Iran, in preparation for a possible resumption of military operations against Iran by President Trump. However, sources analyzed that launching new strikes would be more challenging for the U.S. than previously. According to NBC News, the Pentagon is considering naming any renewed military operation “The Sledgehammer,” with targets including nuclear facilities previously struck by U.S. airstrikes last June—such as the Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites.
U.S. forces may also target Iran’s strategic oil infrastructure on Kharg Island, power plants, military command centers, and communications facilities. According to insiders, many targets inside Iran already struck are considered “low-hanging fruit,” as they are “either stationary or not deeply buried in hardened shelters.” However, missile launchers, drones, and similar assets have become more concealed and harder to access, making their detection and precision targeting significantly more difficult than before.
