TechFlow News: On May 17, according to the Zhejiang Daily, the Ningbo Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau in Zhejiang Province, China, recently cracked multiple cases involving the smuggling of cryptocurrency mining rigs, dismantling several criminal syndicates and seizing over 400 mining rigs—including Antminer L9 and IceRiver KS3 models.
The report states that the involved criminal groups disassembled the mining rigs and falsely declared them as “industrial circuit breakers” or similar items, smuggling them into China via international express courier channels through ports including Ningbo and Guangzhou. The rigs were then reassembled and sold domestically—or shipped to mining farms in regions such as Xinjiang and Hunan for hosted mining operations.
Investigators noted that these criminal groups also used USDT for cross-border payments and settlements to evade financial oversight.
