TechFlow News, May 17: According to CoinDesk, Jump Crypto’s new Solana validator client, Firedancer, quietly entered production on the mainnet as of May 16 and has been running for several months—currently producing blocks and having processed tens of millions of transactions.
Ritchie Patel, Founding Engineer of Firedancer, stated: “Firedancer is live in production. We do not expect everyone to run it right now. Upgrading half the network before completing a comprehensive security audit would be overly reckless.”
The team is adopting a cautious, incremental rollout strategy. It recently concluded a million-dollar bug bounty security audit competition to ensure network stability. The project aims to enhance Solana’s performance, resilience, and client diversity, complementing—not competing with—the Anza client.
