TechFlow News: On May 15, according to CoinDesk, Charles Gerstein, the attorney representing plaintiffs in the Arbitrum frozen crypto-assets dispute, has requested the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (Manhattan Federal Court) to order Tether to transfer approximately 344,149,759 frozen USDT tokens. The two TRON wallet addresses associated with these assets have been designated by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) as linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Plaintiffs contend that since Tether has already frozen the relevant tokens, an equivalent amount of USDT may be reissued to a wallet controlled by their counsel for satisfying outstanding terrorism-related judgment debts.
