TechFlow News, May 12: On-chain investigator ZachXBT revealed that U.S.-based threat actor Dritan Kapllani Jr. is suspected of stealing cryptocurrency assets from victims via social engineering, with total losses amounting to $19 million. Dritan has long flaunted a lavish lifestyle on social media—including luxury cars, high-end watches, and private jets—and publicly displayed $3.68 million in assets held in his Exodus wallet during a Discord call on April 23, 2026. By tracing his ETH address (0x4487db847db2fc99372a985743a26f46e0b2bba6), ZachXBT linked him to a $13 million social engineering theft involving 185 BTC that occurred on March 14, 2026; the stolen funds included a $5.3 million transfer into his Exodus wallet the following day, of which $1.6 million had already been spent within six weeks.
On May 11, 2026, criminal charges against co-suspect Trenton Johnson were made public, carrying a maximum sentence of 40 years. Dritan is named as a co-conspirator (CC-1) in the indictment but has not yet been formally charged. Additionally, Dritan previously engaged in a “wealth-flaunting rivalry” with John Daghita (a.k.a. “Lick”), which indirectly led ZachXBT to expose, in January 2026, John’s theft of $46 million from the U.S. government—and ultimately resulted in John’s arrest.
