TechFlow News, May 10: According to sources, Alibaba (09988.HK) is preparing to announce its integration plan for its artificial intelligence platform Qwen with the e-commerce platform Taobao. This initiative aims to drive shopping through conversational interactions rather than keyword-based search. Under the integration, consumers will be able to browse, compare, and purchase products by conversing with an AI assistant within the Qwen app—eliminating the need to manually navigate product listings. The Qwen app is expected to access Taobao and Tmall’s full catalog of over 4 billion items and leverage a “skills library” capable of managing logistics and after-sales services. It will also provide personalized shopping recommendations based on users’ order history and shopping preferences. Additionally, Alibaba will launch a Qwen-powered AI shopping assistant directly within the Taobao platform, featuring tools such as virtual try-on and 30-day price tracking. (Jin10)
