TechFlow News, April 19: According to DL News, a South Korean forgery ring is selling counterfeit official documents to users via Telegram and prefers payment in cryptocurrency or digital gift cards. A forged Yonsei University diploma sells for approximately $200, an enrollment certificate for about $100, and fake diplomas from overseas universities for roughly $341. The report notes that the group also provides forged driver’s licenses, certificates of kinship, certificates of no criminal record, and bank loan documents. South Korean police stated that the number of arrests related to document forgery nearly doubled between 2021 and 2023.
