TechFlow reports that on April 2, according to Pankaj Gupta, CEO of the AI model evaluation platform Yupp.ai, Yupp.ai has announced its shutdown. The website will remain accessible for the next 15 days, during which users may download their chat data. Existing users can no longer initiate new conversations as of today, and new users cannot register.
Launched in June 2025, Yupp.ai positioned itself as a two-sided marketplace for AI model evaluation, with its core premise being: effective AI model evaluation achieved through diverse, real-world usage by a large user base.
Pankaj Gupta stated that the shutdown stems from significant shifts in the AI model capability landscape over the past year—models’ capabilities have continuously advanced at a rapid pace, and users’ ways of interacting with AI have likewise evolved. Standalone chatbots alone can no longer meet user needs. Drawing on prior entrepreneurial experience, he explained that acknowledging the problem early—rather than persisting down an uncertain path—is the more prudent decision. The company will return its remaining funds to investors.
