TechFlow News, March 29: The Houthi movement announced the launch of multiple ballistic missiles toward southern Israel. Analysts stated that this move marks Yemen’s formal entry as a new front in the current Middle East conflict, potentially further escalating regional tensions; the Houthis’ involvement may become a critical variable shaping future developments. Abed, a strategic military expert for Yemen’s Houthi movement, said: “It is foreseeable that this will have a significant impact on the situation—especially given Israel’s growing difficulty in bearing another round of conflict, particularly now that the Houthis have officially entered the war. We anticipate responses from Israel—and possibly even from the United States. Should the U.S. take action, we will strike all its related interests, including naval vessels.” Abed added that with the opening of the Yemen front, security risks to key maritime routes—including the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Bab el-Mandeb Strait—are rising, and the spillover effects of regional tensions are becoming increasingly evident.
