The original provisions had proposed imposing a 0.3% transaction tax on cryptocurrency transactions conducted via service providers and implementing withholding tax on cryptocurrency gains. This revision followed strong opposition from the opposition party. Officials stated that the relevant content may be reintroduced in the future as a standalone piece of legislation.
