TechFlow News, March 27: Chan Cho Veng, Deputy Director of Macao’s Economic and Technological Development Bureau, stated at the “Beijing-Guangdong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Forum” event of the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Meeting that Macao can support China’s “AI+” initiative through three distinctive advantages: First, Macao boasts world-class leisure and tourism scenarios, with over 40 million visitors expected in 2025—providing abundant testing and application opportunities for AI technologies. Second, leveraging its “One Country, Two Systems” framework and role as a platform for exchanges between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, Macao serves as a vital bridge connecting mainland Chinese enterprises with Portuguese-speaking nations. Third, Macao utilizes government-guided funds to mobilize long-term capital, accelerating the development of science and technology research parks and establishing innovation platforms in digital technologies, biopharmaceuticals, and other fields.
