TechFlow News, March 27: According to a CoinDesk report, Jon Herrick, Chief Product Officer of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), stated at the New York Digital Assets Summit that the NYSE is working to integrate blockchain technology into its existing market infrastructure—not to replace traditional systems. Herrick emphasized the exchange’s pursuit of “interoperability,” exploring use cases for tokenized assets within existing systems—including real-time or near-real-time settlement and extended trading hours.
He also noted that existing mechanisms such as central clearing retain irreplaceable risk management value and must be preserved. Herrick predicted that the boundary between traditional and tokenized assets will gradually blur over the next decade. Additionally, ICE—the NYSE’s parent company—made a strategic investment in crypto exchange OKX earlier this month, and the two parties will collaborate on crypto futures and tokenized equities.
