TechFlow News, March 17: According to The Block, World—a Web3 identity verification project co-founded by Sam Altman—has announced AgentKit, a developer toolkit for x402, Coinbase’s agent payment protocol. AgentKit is currently available in beta. It enables users verified by World to delegate authorization of their World ID to AI agents, allowing those agents to prove the existence of a real human behind them—while preserving privacy—when interacting with websites and platforms. World ID is World’s previously launched mechanism enabling users to cryptographically prove their unique human identity.
Erik Reppel, Head of Engineering for Coinbase’s Developer Platform and Founder of x402, stated that payments address the “how” of agent commerce, while identity addresses the “who” participating—combining both to provide developers with a complete trust framework.
