TechFlow News: According to monitoring data released on March 13 by the National Cybersecurity and Information Security Alert Center, the number of globally active OpenClaw internet assets has exceeded 200,000. Of these, approximately 23,000 are active within mainland China, reflecting explosive growth—concentrated primarily in internet-resource-rich regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Sichuan, and Jiangsu.
A large number of OpenClaw assets exposed on the internet pose significant security risks and are highly vulnerable to cyberattacks. In particular, OpenClaw agents exhibit unpredictable behavior and are difficult to control. During command execution, OpenClaw agents are prone to privilege escalation, resulting in unauthorized task execution and disregard for user instructions—potentially leading to deletion of user data, theft of user information, or takeover of user endpoint devices, thereby causing substantial economic losses.
