TechFlow News, March 6: Hurun Research Institute yesterday released the Hurun Global Rich List 2026. The wealth calculation cutoff date was January 15, 2026.
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), founder of Binance, was listed among the “Top 20 Chinese Entrepreneurs,” with a fortune of RMB 200 billion, ranking 12th on this list and 76th globally. Hurun Research Institute noted that there are currently 23 known cryptocurrency billionaires worldwide; among them, Zhao’s wealth grew over 30% to RMB 200 billion, Chris Larsen of Ripple saw his wealth rebound to RMB 110 billion, and Nikolay Storonsky of fintech platform Revolut saw his wealth surge by 122%.
Additionally, propelled by soaring valuations of SpaceX and Tesla, 54-year-old Elon Musk became the world’s richest person for the fifth time in six years, with a fortune of RMB 5.5 trillion—a rise of 89%, or RMB 2.6 trillion. Jeff Bezos, 62, of Amazon ranked second with RMB 2.1 trillion, up 13% (RMB 240 billion), benefiting from Amazon’s deepening dominance in AI-driven cloud computing and growth in Blue Origin’s space initiatives. Larry Page of Alphabet saw his wealth rise 65% to RMB 1.9 trillion, entering the top three for the first time.
