TechFlow News: On March 1, it was verified that the announcement on X’s “Paid Partnership Policy” listing the cryptocurrency industry on its prohibited promotion list is not a new regulation. According to the web archive site Archive.org, the cryptocurrency industry has been included in the list of “industries ineligible for paid partnership promotions” since at least June 2024.
The key updates in the latest policy revision are as follows: disclosure requirements have changed from “must include #ad” to “must clearly label content as ‘Ad’ or ‘Promoted Content’”; the reporting channel has shifted from “email-based reporting” to “form-based reporting”; and a new clause permitting “exceptions on a case-by-case basis” has been added.
