TechFlow reports that on February 27, Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia, posted on social media stating that Bitcoin is unlikely to drop to zero, as its design is robust enough to persist indefinitely—unless cryptography suffers an unforeseen collapse or a 51% attack occurs. However, Wales believes Bitcoin has already completely failed as both a medium of exchange and a store of value, and will not become the dominant currency of the future. He predicts that by 2050, Bitcoin’s price could fall below $10,000 (in today’s USD terms), possibly even lower, remaining relevant only at the level of enthusiast adoption.
