TechFlow News: On February 26, according to JINSHI Data, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) released its 2026 Article IV Consultation Statement for the United States on February 25, stating that the U.S. should engage in constructive cooperation with its trading partners to address concerns about unfair trade practices and commit to reaching consensus on reducing trade restrictions that generate adverse cross-border effects. The statement noted that trade and investment measures—including tariffs and export controls—implemented on national security grounds should be narrowly tailored to minimize their negative impacts both domestically and internationally. It further stated that tariff hikes distort the allocation of productive resources, disrupt global supply chains, erode the benefits of global trade, and raise costs.
