This feature aims to flag undisclosed advertising content on the platform and signals that X may require users to clearly disclose paid promotional posts, with non-compliant accounts facing suspension or other enforcement actions. Bier noted that some promotional content currently circulating on the platform lacks clear labeling indicating commercial partnerships or advertising intent—potentially misleading users. If implemented, the new rule would likely strengthen transparency around paid promotions and enhance compliance review mechanisms. Reportedly, Bier has already requested additional advertising disclosures in replies to paid promotional tweets on the prediction market platform Kalshi and warned that failure to comply could result in account bans.
