TechFlow News, February 13: According to The Block, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, South Korea, has lost 22 bitcoins stored in a cold wallet since 2021. These digital assets were transferred under unknown circumstances, and the police have launched an internal investigation to determine the exact details of the incident and whether any internal personnel were involved. As of now, South Korean authorities have not released further details regarding the fund’s destination or potential suspects. At current market prices, the lost bitcoins are valued at over $1.4 million.
Earlier reports indicated that seized bitcoins worth $47.7 million, held by a prosecutor’s office in Gwangju, South Korea, were stolen via a phishing attack.
