TechFlow News, February 10: According to a report by The Cover News citing Malaysian media, seven local Malaysian police officers allegedly colluded with five men to break into a residence in Kajang, Selangor, late at night, where they intimidated and extorted Chinese tourists—ultimately coercing the victims into transferring approximately 200,000 Malaysian ringgit (about RMB 352,000) via cryptocurrency. Following an investigation, police swiftly took action and successfully arrested the involved officers.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on February 5 at a residential unit in Country Heights, Kajang. That evening, eight Chinese tourists were resting inside the house when 12 men forcibly entered. Some of the intruders wore reflective police jackets and presented official police identification cards, claiming to be law enforcement officers.
Police have classified this case as “gang robbery with weapons” and are investigating under Section 395 of the Penal Code. Additionally, police will apply to the local court for an extension of detention to facilitate further investigation.
