TechFlow News, July 12. According to Bitcoin com News, the São Paulo State Court in Brazil ruled that Coinbase must return approximately $100,000 and corresponding legal interest to a self-custody wallet user due to unauthorized fund transfers from the user's wallet. Although Coinbase argued that the wallet private keys were controlled by the user and the platform should not bear responsibility, the court found that it failed to prove the transaction was initiated by the user and failed to adequately explain relevant security measures. This ruling may establish a precedent for liability determination of self-custody wallet service providers.
