TechFlow News: On February 10, Ben Zhou, Co-Founder and CEO of Bybit, attended a closed-door event co-hosted by FutureOne MENA and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC)—the “Family Office Dinner: The Future of Asset Tokenization”—and delivered a keynote speech titled “From Crypto to RWA: How Tokenization and Liquidity Are Reshaping Investment.” This event serves as one of the preludes to the 2026 Hong Kong Consensus Conference.
He stated that global digital asset platforms are undergoing a critical transformation: “Cryptocurrencies have evolved beyond mere trading instruments and are gradually becoming an integral part of the global financial system. Platforms like Bybit are transitioning from single-purpose exchanges into comprehensive financial service providers—the New Financial Platform—serving broader financial needs. Meanwhile, the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) is injecting new liquidity, yield structures, and collateral mechanisms into traditional assets such as real estate and bonds.”
He revealed that certain family offices in the Middle East have begun experimenting with tokenization tools to enhance balance-sheet management efficiency—converting traditionally illiquid assets into divisible, tradable digital instruments, thereby enabling cross-time-zone fund allocation and risk diversification.
Ben noted: “We are witnessing a structural shift—cryptographic technology is progressing from its early exploratory phase toward becoming foundational infrastructure for mainstream finance. Compliant, high-quality RWA tokenization will serve as a vital bridge connecting traditional capital with the digital financial ecosystem.”
