TechFlow News: On January 27, according to Criptonoticias, the municipal government of Sanxenxo in Spain’s Galicia region suffered a ransomware attack. Hackers encrypted thousands of administrative documents and blocked system access, demanding a ransom of $5,000 in Bitcoin.
The attack occurred on January 26, causing a complete shutdown of municipal servers and disrupting essential services in this city of over 17,000 residents. The municipal government has filed a report with Spain’s Civil Guard, refused to pay the ransom, and stated it is restoring systems using daily backups.
