TechFlow news: On January 27, a company’s server in the Pingxiang Economic and Technological Development Zone was attacked by overseas hackers and illegally hijacked for cryptocurrency “mining,” severely disrupting its business systems. The Cybersecurity Unit of the Pingxiang Municipal Public Security Bureau’s Jingkai Branch, in collaboration with the Municipal Cyberspace Administration, responded swiftly—containing the threat source, conducting forensic analysis, and assessing the scope of data exposure—to successfully halt the attack. The investigation revealed that the company had directly exposed its internal systems to the public internet and failed to update security patches for an extended period, leaving it vulnerable to exploitation. The cybersecurity authorities have guided the enterprise in implementing corrective measures and issued a “Notice of Order to Rectify.” They also urged enterprises to strictly enforce the “Four Essentials”: port management, vulnerability remediation, monitoring and early-warning systems, and enhanced security awareness—to strengthen their cybersecurity defenses.
