TechFlow reports that on January 26, Brian Armstrong, co-founder and CEO of Coinbase, posted on social media stating that the current private enterprise capital formation process is overly complex. He believes that a highly regulated environment causes companies to prefer remaining private for extended periods, directing most returns toward private/credit investors rather than retail investors. Armstrong predicts that in the future, enterprises will be able to conduct public listings entirely via blockchain, significantly lowering costs, reducing friction, and increasing market access opportunities.
