TechFlow news: On January 26, according to Cointelegraph, the world’s largest Bitcoin mining pool, Foundry USA, has experienced a nearly 60% decline in hash rate—approximately 200 EH/s—since last Friday due to Winter Storm “Fern.” The pool currently maintains roughly 198 EH/s of hash rate, accounting for 23% of the global mining pool’s total hash rate. This large-scale reduction in output has slowed Bitcoin block production to one block every 12 minutes. The storm has left over one million U.S. residents without power; miners have adjusted their energy consumption to help balance grid load, serving as controllable load resources during emergencies.
