TechFlow News, January 23: According to a report by Cointelegraph, Binance has submitted an application for the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory license to the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC), ahead of the upcoming compliance deadline. Previously, on January 13, France’s Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) warned that Binance is among 90 crypto firms already registered but yet to obtain MiCA authorization. The French regulator cautioned that the MiCA transition period ends on June 30, after which non-compliant firms must cease operations as of July.
According to data from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), Greece has not yet issued its first MiCA license, while Germany and the Netherlands lead the EU in the number of granted Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) licenses—43 and 22, respectively.
