TechFlow news — On January 21, according to Cryptobriefing, Ripple President Monica Long predicted that around 50% of Fortune 500 companies will hold exposure to cryptocurrencies by the end of 2026, implementing formal strategies including tokenized assets, on-chain treasuries, stablecoins, and programmable financial tools.
Long stated: "After the most exciting year in crypto, the industry is entering the production era. In 2026, we’ll see institutionalization of crypto." She believes 2026 will become a real inflection point for institutional adoption and the expansion of the internet of value.
Regarding stablecoins, Long noted they will become "the foundation for global settlement, not an alternative channel," citing major institutions like Visa and Stripe that have already integrated them into payment processes. She forecasts that 5% to 10% of capital market settlements will move on-chain, and approximately half of the world’s top 50 banks will establish new custody agreements by 2026.
