TechFlow reports on January 20 that, according to an official announcement, Zama Protocol's staking functionality has officially launched on the mainnet. Users who participated in the Zama public auction can begin claiming and staking their tokens starting February 2.
Zama Protocol utilizes a proof-of-stake mechanism, with operators divided into two categories: Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) nodes responsible for encrypted computation, and Key Management System (KMS) nodes responsible for user threshold decryption. There are currently 18 operators in total, including 5 FHE nodes and 13 KMS nodes.
Regarding reward distribution, FHE nodes receive 40% of rewards while KMS nodes receive 60%. Token holders can stake their tokens with operators to share in the rewards. The unstaking period is 7 days.
