TechFlow news — On January 19, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted on social media stating that we need more, but better, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). He noted that the current DAO model, which primarily relies on token-holder voting to control funds, is "workable" but inefficient and vulnerable to manipulation, failing to alleviate the weaknesses inherent in human politics.
Vitalik emphasized that DAOs play important roles in creating better oracles, on-chain dispute resolution, maintaining various lists, rapidly launching projects, and sustaining long-term project maintenance. He suggested that modern technologies could bring a renaissance to DAOs—particularly zero-knowledge proofs (ZK) for privacy protection, artificial intelligence to address decision fatigue, and consensus-finding tools to improve communication.
Vitalik called on new projects to treat the development of novel governance designs as a core mission rather than an add-on task, ensuring that Ethereum's decentralized and robust foundation extends effectively into its upper-layer application ecosystem.
