TechFlow reports, January 18 — According to Bloomberg, Senate Democrats plan to introduce legislation to block Trump from imposing tariffs on European countries opposing U.S. annexation of Greenland. Earlier, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer criticized the move as damaging to both the U.S. economy and alliances.
Previous report: U.S. President Donald Trump announced via social media that, due to the Greenland issue, all goods exported to the United States from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland will face a 10% tariff starting February 1 this year. By June 1, the tariff will increase to 25%. These tariffs will remain in effect until an agreement is reached on the "complete and total purchase of Greenland."
