TechFlow news, on January 9, according to Lianhe Zaobao, U.S. President Trump claimed that his "own moral standards" are the only constraint on ordering military actions globally.
Trump made these remarks just days after launching a lightning campaign to overthrow Venezuelan President Maduro and threatening actions against numerous other countries, including Greenland.
In an interview with The New York Times on Wednesday (January 7), Trump was asked whether there were limits to his global power. He replied, "Yes, only one: my own moral standards, my own thinking. That's the only thing that constrains me."
He also said, "I don't need international law; I have no intention of harming others."
The Republican president later added that he "does" need to follow international law, but "it depends on how you define international law."
Agence France-Presse reported that the United States is not a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which prosecutes war criminals, and has repeatedly rejected rulings from the United Nations' highest court, the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
