TechFlow, December 19 — According to Jinshi Data, a senior government official revealed that Federal Reserve Governor Waller had a "productive interview" with Trump regarding the position of Federal Reserve Chair. The two engaged in an in-depth discussion on the labor market and how to stimulate job growth. The interview took place at the presidential residence and concluded shortly before Trump delivered a national address on economic issues Wednesday evening. Treasury Secretary Bessent, White House Chief of Staff Wiles, and Deputy Chief of Staff Scavino also attended the interview. Officials said Rick Rieder of BlackRock Group will be interviewed at Mar-a-Lago during the final week of this year. They also stated that Federal Reserve Governor Bowman is no longer a candidate for the role. Officials emphasized that Waller's conversation with Trump on employment demonstrates that external concerns and criticisms—that the president is merely seeking a candidate who would defer to his wishes on interest rate matters—are unfounded. They stressed that the president's interviews with candidates have covered a broad range of economic topics. (CNBC)
