TechFlow, December 17 — Bybit co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou attended the Solana Breakpoint 2025 fireside chat on December 12, discussing the future of the crypto industry with Lily Liu, Chairperson of the Solana Foundation.
- Accelerating compliance and licensing: Ben Zhou stated that over the past two years, Bybit has focused on securing regulatory approvals in key markets. Bybit was among the first exchanges to obtain a license from the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and has acquired authorization under Europe's MiCA framework. Meanwhile, Southeast Asian markets—including Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia—are preparing for broader regulatory acceptance of cryptocurrencies.
- Expansion into emerging market payment channels: Cryptocurrency adoption is growing rapidly across Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, and Africa. In markets with underbanked populations, crypto platforms are increasingly becoming primary financial interfaces. To support this, Bybit offers users crypto cards, yield programs, and structured products.
- Byreal and decentralized liquidity: Ben Zhou discussed Byreal, a decentralized exchange built on Solana, highlighting liquidity and spread performance as its core advantages. He reiterated Bybit’s commitment to building compliant and accessible infrastructure while driving innovation in decentralized markets.
