TechFlow, December 16 — According to Cointelegraph, the U.S. Senate Banking Committee has confirmed it will not complete the markup process for cryptocurrency market structure legislation within 2025, with related hearings postponed to early 2026. With the final legislative week of 2025 approaching, House and Senate lawmakers are beginning to return home for the holidays starting Wednesday, forcing a halt in the legislative process. Over the past two months, the committee has been working on a bipartisan consensus version of the bill text, but it remains unclear whether an updated draft will be released before recess. Meanwhile, the Senate Agriculture Committee has also not scheduled a review date for its related text, further delaying the Senate leadership’s original timeline to finalize legislation by year-end. This delay means the crypto industry will continue operating under regulatory uncertainty for several more months.
