TechFlow, Dec 11 — According to CCN, Belarusian President Lukashenko has signed a decree banning citizens from using foreign cryptocurrency exchanges and brokers, allowing digital asset trading only on domestic platforms. The move primarily targets residents of the High-Tech Park (HTP), aiming to strengthen consumer protection and prevent cryptocurrencies from being used for illegal activities. Although Belarus maintains close ties with Russia and is often seen as a "testing ground" for Russian policies, Russia has not indicated plans to follow this ban. On the contrary, Russia is gradually embracing the cryptocurrency industry, including testing a national-level crypto exchange and cross-border settlement solutions, despite concerns from its central bank about potential threats to the ruble's stability.
