As the government shutdown entered its 43rd day, House lawmakers advanced the bill to the next stage on Wednesday with a vote of 213 in favor and 209 opposed. The appropriations bill will now undergo one hour of debate before the final vote. Earlier, the White House stated that Trump hopes to sign the bill ending the government shutdown tonight (Thursday morning Beijing time).
