TechFlow, October 28 — According to FinanceFeeds, India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) announced the expansion of the National Blockchain Framework (NBF) to accelerate government digitization. With a budget of 6.476 billion rupees, the framework has been deployed through the National Informatics Centre across major data centers in Bhubaneswar, Pune, and Hyderabad. As of October 2025, over 3.4 billion documents have been verified on the platform.
The NBF comprises four core components: Vishvasya Stack (decentralized application trust layer), NBFLite (testing environment), Praamaanik (document verification system), and the National Blockchain Portal (unified access point). Currently, state governments have begun issuing caste, residence, and income certificates using blockchain technology, while the judicial system is piloting blockchain-based record keeping.
Experts believe that as blockchain adoption accelerates across departments and state governments, the National Blockchain Framework will redefine how India manages data, documents, and public services, transforming blockchain from a technological experiment into a cornerstone of national governance.
