TechFlow news, October 23: According to DL News, UK digital bank Revolut announced it has obtained a MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, enabling it to launch cryptocurrency services across the European Union.
The license allows Revolut to roll out its crypto services across 30 countries in the European Economic Area. Costas Michael, Revolut's Chief Executive Officer for Digital Assets in Europe, said: "We have ambitious plans for the cryptocurrency space, and the MiCA license is the foundation for making them happen."
Revolut also plans to launch its "Crypto 2.0" service, which will support over 280 cryptocurrencies, offer zero-fee staking, and enable spread-free conversions between stablecoins and US dollars.
