Trump's Inaugural Address: America's Golden Age Begins Now
Trump's inaugural speech was the longest in terms of word count since 1929 (former President Hoover).

Thank you, thank you all, I truly appreciate it. Thank you so very much. Vice President Vance, Speaker Johnson, Senator Thune, Chief Justice Roberts, and the Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States.
President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and my fellow citizens, America's golden age begins now.
From this day forward, our nation will prosper again and regain respect around the world. We will become an object of envy for every country, and we will no longer allow ourselves to be bullied by anyone.
Every single day of the Trump administration, I will put America first.
Our sovereignty will be reclaimed. Our security will be restored. The scales of justice will be rebalanced. The malicious, violent, and unjust weaponization of the Department of Justice and our government will end.
Our highest priority is building a proud, prosperous, and free nation. America will soon become greater, stronger, and more exceptional than ever before.
I return to the presidency with confidence and optimism, believing that we stand at the dawn of an exciting new era of national success. A wave of transformation is sweeping across our nation, sunlight is shining throughout the world, and America has the opportunity to seize this moment like never before.
But first, we must honestly confront the challenges we face. While these challenges are many, they will be crushed by the tremendous momentum currently witnessed in America.
As we gather here today, our government faces a crisis of trust. For years, a radical and corrupt system has seized power and wealth from our citizens, while the pillars of our society have crumbled, seemingly left entirely unrepaired.
Our current government cannot even handle simple domestic crises, while continuously plunging into disastrous events overseas.
It has failed to protect our great law-abiding American citizens, yet provides sanctuary and protection to dangerous criminals—many of whom come from prisons and mental institutions—who illegally enter our country from all corners of the globe. Our government offers unlimited funding to protect foreign borders but refuses to protect America’s borders, or more importantly, its own people.
Our nation can no longer provide basic services during emergencies, recently demonstrated by the fine people of North Carolina who were treated so poorly. Other states still suffer from hurricanes that struck months ago.
Or more recently, Los Angeles, where we are witnessing fires still burning mercilessly. Weeks ago, they swept through homes and communities defenselessly, even affecting some of the wealthiest and most powerful individuals in our nation—some of whom are sitting right here today. They’ve become homeless. That’s interesting.
But we cannot let this continue. Everyone feels powerless about it. This will change. We have a public health system that fails during disasters, despite spending more on it than any other country in the world.
And we have an education system that, in too many cases, teaches our children to feel shame and hatred toward our nation, despite our desperate efforts to give them love. From this day forward, all of this will change—and it will change very quickly.
My recent election was a mission—to completely reverse a terrible betrayal, and all the betrayals that have occurred—to restore to the people their faith, their wealth, their democracy, and their freedom.
From this moment forward, America’s decline ends.
Our freedom and the radiant destiny of our nation will no longer be denied. We will immediately restore integrity, capability, and loyalty to the American government.
In the past eight years, I have faced more trials and challenges than any president in our 250-year history. Through this journey, I have learned much. Let me tell you, the path to revitalizing our republic is not easy.
Those who sought to stop our cause attempted to deprive me of my liberty, even my life.
Just months ago, on that beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin’s bullet passed through my ear. But then I felt—and now I deeply believe—that my life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again.
Thank you, thank you so much.
This is why, under our American patriots’ leadership, every day we will meet every crisis with dignity, strength, and power.
We will bring hope, prosperity, security, and peace back to every citizen of every race, religion, color, and creed—with purposeful action and rapid steps. For American citizens, January 20, 2025, is Liberation Day.
I hope our recent presidential election will be remembered as the greatest and most impactful election in our nation’s history.
As our victory shows, the entire nation is rapidly uniting behind our agenda, with massive support surging across nearly every sector of society: young and old, men and women, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, urban, suburban, and rural—and more importantly, we achieved strong victories in all seven swing states, winning the popular vote by millions.
To the Black and Hispanic communities, I thank you for the tremendous love and trust expressed through your votes. We made history, and I will never forget it.
I heard your voices during the campaign, and I look forward to working with you in the years ahead. Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day—an immense honor. In his memory, we will work together to make his dream a reality. We will fulfill his dream.
National unity is returning to America, and confidence and pride are higher than ever before. In everything we do, my administration will be driven by an intense pursuit of excellence and relentless achievement.
We will not forget our nation, we will not forget our Constitution, we will not forget our God. We cannot do that.
Today I will sign a series of historic executive orders. Through these actions, we will begin the full restoration of America and launch a revolution of common sense. It’s all about common sense.
First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border. All illegal entry will stop immediately, and we will begin deporting millions of criminal aliens back to their countries of origin.
We will reinstate my "Remain in Mexico" policy. I will end the "catch and release" practice. At the same time, I will deploy military forces to the southern border to stop the catastrophic invasion of our nation.
Under the orders I sign today, we will also designate these drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
By invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, I will direct our government to use the full force of federal and state law enforcement to eliminate the presence of all foreign criminal networks that bring devastating crime onto American soil, including our cities and downtowns.
As Commander-in-Chief, my highest duty is to defend our nation against threats and invasions—and that is exactly what I will do. We will accomplish this to an unprecedented degree.
Next, I will instruct all cabinet members to mobilize their vast powers to defeat record inflation and rapidly reduce costs and prices. The inflation crisis stems from excessive spending and soaring energy prices.
That is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will “drill, baby, drill.”
America will once again become a manufacturing nation—and we possess something no other manufacturing nation has: the largest oil and gas reserves on Earth. We will use them. We will use them.
We will lower prices, refill our strategic reserves to maximum capacity, and export American energy around the world.
We will once again become a wealthy nation, and the liquid gold beneath our feet will help make it happen.
Through my actions today, we will end the Green New Deal, repeal the electric vehicle mandate, save our auto industry, and fulfill my sacred promise to the great American autoworkers.
In other words, you will be able to buy the car of your choice. We will manufacture cars in America again at speeds unimaginable just years ago. To the autoworkers of our nation, thank you for your inspiring vote of confidence. We performed exceptionally well because of your support.
I will immediately begin a comprehensive reform of our trade system to protect American workers and families. We will impose tariffs and taxes on foreign nations for the benefit of our citizens—not tax our citizens to benefit other countries.
To achieve this, we are establishing an External Revenue Service to collect all tariffs, taxes, and revenues. This will bring vast sums of money from abroad into our treasury.
The American Dream will soon return and flourish as never before. To restore the capability and efficiency of the federal government, my administration will establish a new Department of Government Efficiency.
After years of illegal and unconstitutional suppression of free speech by the federal government, I will also sign an executive order immediately ending all government censorship and restoring free speech to America.
The immense power of our nation will no longer be used as a weapon to persecute political opponents—I know this firsthand. We will not allow this to happen. This will never happen again.
Under my leadership, we will restore fair, equal, and impartial justice under constitutional rule of law. We will bring law and order back to our cities.
This week, I will also end government policies attempting to inject race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. We will build a society based on merit, regardless of skin color.
From this day forward, the official policy of the U.S. government will recognize only two genders: male and female.
This week, I will reinstate all service members unjustly discharged for opposing COVID-19 vaccine mandates, with full back pay.
I will sign an order halting the forced imposition of radical political theories and social experiments on our troops during missions. This will end immediately. Our armed forces will focus solely on their one mission: defeating America’s enemies.
Just as in 2017, we will rebuild the most powerful military on Earth. Our success will be measured not only by how many wars we win, but by how many wars we end—and perhaps most importantly, by which wars we avoid entering.
My proudest legacy will be as a peacemaker and unifier. That is who I want to be—a peacemaker and unifier. I am pleased to announce that, as of yesterday—the day before I took office—hostages in the Middle East are returning to their families. Thank you.
America will reclaim its rightful place as the greatest, strongest, and most respected nation on Earth, inspiring awe and admiration worldwide. Soon, we will rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.
We will restore the name of great President William McKinley to Mount McKinley, where it belongs and should always have been. President McKinley made our nation immensely wealthy through tariffs and skill. He was a natural-born businessman who funded many of Teddy Roosevelt’s great achievements—including the Panama Canal—which was later foolishly handed over to Panama.
I mean, consider this: America spent unprecedented billions and sacrificed 38,000 lives building the Panama Canal, yet we have been grossly mistreated by this ill-advised, foolish gift.
Panama has broken its promises to us. The intent of our agreement and the spirit of the treaty have been completely violated. American ships are being outrageously overcharged and treated unfairly. This includes the U.S. Navy… We will take it back.
Most of all, what I want to say to Americans today is that now is the time for us to act again with courage, vigor, and the vitality of history’s greatest civilization. As we liberate our nation, we will lead it to new heights of victory and success. We will not be intimidated.
We will jointly end the epidemic of chronic illness, keeping our children safe, healthy, and disease-free.
America will once again see itself as a growing nation—one that increases our wealth, expands our territory, builds our cities, raises our aspirations, and carries our flag into bright new frontiers.
We will pursue our manifest destiny to the stars, sending American astronauts to Mars and planting the Stars and Stripes on Mars.
Ambition is the lifeblood of great nations. And now, our nation is more ambitious than any other. No country compares to ours. Americans are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and pioneers. The pioneer spirit is embedded in our hearts.
The call to the next great adventure echoes deep within our souls. Our American ancestors transformed a small cluster of colonies on the edge of a vast continent into the most extraordinary republic of citizens on Earth—unmatched by any.
Americans traversed thousands of miles of rugged wilderness. They crossed deserts, scaled mountains, braved dangers, conquered the untamed West, ended slavery, liberated millions from tyranny, lifted billions out of poverty, harnessed electricity, split the atom, sent humans to heaven, and placed the universe of human knowledge into human hands.
If we work together, there is nothing we cannot do, no dream we cannot realize.
Many thought it impossible for me to stage such a historic political comeback. But as you see today, I did. The American people have spoken.
I stand before you now as proof that you should never believe anything is impossible. In America, the impossible is what we do best.
From New York to Los Angeles, from Philadelphia to Phoenix, from Chicago to Miami, from Houston to Washington, D.C., our nation has been forged and built by generation after generation of patriots who gave everything for our rights and freedoms.
They were farmers and soldiers, cowboys and factory workers, steelworkers and coal miners, police and pioneers—always moving forward, pressing ahead, letting no obstacle defeat their spirit or pride.
Together they laid railroads, erected skyscrapers, built great highways, won two world wars, defeated fascism… overcoming every challenge they faced.
After all we have endured together, we are about to enter the greatest four years in American history. With your help, we will restore America’s promise, and we will rebuild this nation we love so deeply.
We are one people, one family, one glorious nation under God. So to every parent dreaming for their child, and every child dreaming of the future, I am with you. I will fight for you. I will win for you. We will achieve victories unprecedented in history.
Thank you, thank you.
In recent years, our nation has suffered greatly. But we will restore it, make it great again, and shine brighter than ever before. We will become an unparalleled nation filled with compassion, courage, and excellence.
Our strength will halt all wars, bringing a new spirit of unity to a world filled with anger, violence, and utter unpredictability.
America will once again be respected and admired—even by those of faith and goodwill. We will thrive. We will be proud. We will be mighty. We will win as never before.
We will not be conquered, we will not be threatened, we will not be broken, we will not fail. From this day forward, the United States of America will be a free, sovereign, and independent nation.
We will stand brave, live proud, dream boldly, and nothing will stop us—because we are Americans. The future belongs to us. Our golden age has just begun. Thank you. God bless America. Thank you all.
